A near capacity crowd turned up at the last show for the Songlives Series for the spring season. From the stage you could sense "Big Magic" in the air, as friendly faces, some very familiar, shone from the reflected stage lights. The sound was crystal clear, and you could hear a toothpick drop.
Talking to Bahhaj Taherzadeh of We/Or/Me before I was struck by our similar experiences in Ireland as teenagers. Him being of Persian/Irish extraction and I moving from Australia to Ireland. I could see why we were put together for the series tonight.
After we each performed there was time at the end for us to collaborate on two songs: He choose "Dreaming Heart" from his latest album, Everything Behind us is a Dream, and I selected "Going Down that Road" from Old Songs for Modern Folk.
Songs were sung and friendships we're made under the banner of Arts. I'm looking forward to the next one (hopefully you'll be there).
